3-Weekend Programme. Every session earns its place.

Every session is designed by a pedagogy team. Every activity has a specific interactive technique — chat blasts, named breakout rooms, Socratic challenges, timed arguments. Students are never passive for more than fifteen minutes.

Weekend 3 adds something no other pre-law programme includes: a full Saturday on AI and the law — how courts are handling it, what happens when AI lies in a legal document, and how to build a case against an AI company.

No other pre-law programme for high school students covers AI law. We dedicate a full Saturday to it — because students graduating in 2026 will practise law in a world where AI liability is one of the fastest-growing fields.

How to Sue an AI Company

Product liability, negligence, defamation, and copyright — the four legal theories being used against AI companies right now. You learn each, see a landmark case, and build an argument.

Never cite a case you have not personally verified in a primary source. AI invents case citations that sound real and are not.

AI does not know the law — it predicts what legal text sounds like. Those are not the same thing.

Lawyers have professional responsibility obligations. Using AI does not transfer that responsibility to the AI company.

AI-generated legal advice is not legal advice. Telling a client what an AI said is still practicing law — and it is still your liability if it is wrong.

Courts are starting to require disclosure of AI use in filings. Know the rules in every jurisdiction you practise in.

Moot Court.
Every student argues.

No observers. No opt-outs. Every student in the cohort is assigned a case and a side, prepares an opening argument, and delivers it before a panel — with a timer running, opposing counsel watching, and judges who push back.

This is not a debate. The rules are those of a real appellate court: structured submissions, time limits, judicial questions from the bench, and a panel decision with public reasoning.

Claimant Counsel
You argue for the party bringing the claim. Opening submission, evidence, rebuttal.
Respondent Counsel
You argue for the defending party. Rebut the claimant, defend the lower court, close.
The Bench
Panel of facilitator + invited guest. Scores on legal accuracy, argument structure, oral delivery, and rebuttal quality. Decision delivered publicly with full reasoning.

Every student chooses their project type on Day 1 and builds it across all three weekends. Three are traditional legal formats. Three are AI-law specific — the most current pre-law projects available anywhere.

Position Paper
A structured written legal argument on any law issue. Thesis, evidence, counterargument, rebuttal, conclusion. The most flexible format — any legal topic, any jurisdiction.

Case Brief
A full FIRAC analysis of a real landmark or emerging case. Facts, issue, rule, analysis, conclusion — plus your own assessment of whether the court decided correctly.

Straight answers to the questions parents and students ask most.

Is the Future Lawyers Fellowship affiliated with Harvard University?

No. The program is run in partnership with Harvard Student Agencies, a Harvard recognized student organization. Sessions are led by Harvard undergraduates. This is not an endorsement by Harvard University itself.

Who teaches the sessions?

Current Harvard undergraduate students. They lead the live sessions, review position papers, and judge the moot court round. They are mentors, not professors.

What grade levels is this program for?

Grades 8 through 12. We welcome students anywhere in that range. The work is designed to stretch strong middle-schoolers and high-schoolers alike.

Do I need any prior debate or law experience to join?

No. Most fellows arrive with no legal background. We start from first principles. Curiosity and willingness to speak up matter more than experience.

What will my child actually learn or produce by the end?

Each fellow studies landmark cases, writes a legal position paper from scratch, completes two rounds of LSAT-style logical reasoning practice, debates AI-law ethics, and argues a moot court. They leave with a written project and a certificate.

Is this program legitimate?

Yes. It is a real, live program run by Learn with Leaders in partnership with Harvard Student Agencies. Sessions happen on Zoom with Harvard undergraduate mentors. We issue a co-signed certificate on completion.

What does a typical session look like?

A live Saturday session on Zoom. Mentors open with a short framing of the day. Fellows then read a case, discuss it, work through a structured exercise, and close with a moot argument or debate. Sessions run about 90 minutes.

Is this only for students who already want to become lawyers?

No. Many fellows are simply curious about law, debate, policy, or public speaking. The skills transfer to any field that rewards clear thinking and argument. Some go on to law. Most do not decide that here.

Do students get a certificate at the end?

Yes. Fellows who complete the program receive a certificate co-signed by the program and Harvard Student Agencies. It is suitable for college applications and portfolios.

Can students outside the US or India join?

Yes. Sessions are on Zoom and the timing works for several regions. Fellows have joined from North America, the Gulf, and Asia. If the schedule fits your time zone, you can take part.

Are the sessions live or pre-recorded?

Live. Every session is held in real time on Zoom with mentors present. There is no recorded lecture track. Fellows speak, ask questions, and argue live.

How much time does this take each week?

One session per weekend, about 90 minutes, across three weekends. Fellows also spend a short stretch of time reading the case pack before each session. Plan for roughly two to three hours per week total.
